How You Can Help

There are a number of ways you can support refugees

Connect with the National Peace Corps Association affiliate and/or local Refugee Resettlement network to learn about the landscape and discover the needs in your community. Find them on a map of the USA here

Volunteer with your local Refugee Resettlement Network. One HIAS-PCC4Refugees initiative is to implement a volunteer manual created by HIAS for community members working with refugees:  “Refugee Resettlement in Partnership:  A Guide for Community Volunteers and Institutions.”  The guide can be adapted to RPCVs or any volunteers and implemented between NPCA and HIAS affiliates around the country. To download it from the HIAS website: here.

Build and/or Join a Team: Building a team allows you to bring together diverse voices—refugees, service providers, faith leaders, business owners, and others who want to lend their voice to your effort. PCC4Refugees can help connect you to others who are already doing this work in your area, through our coalition partners like Refugee Council USA and the Interfaith Immigration Coalition.

Meet With Elected Officials: PCC4Refugees can help you research where your elected officials stand on refugee-related policy issues and contacts to r the state/local office.
